Family Video Visits are no longer provided at CRC’s office in Canterbury. Since COVID-19 began in March 2020, Family Video Visits to a loved one in custody take place in your own home. You will need any smart device that has a camera, sound and internet connection – such as a computer, laptop or smart phone.
How do I arrange a Family Video Visit?
Family members and friends must apply and receive approval for the video contact with the person in custody before it can take place. When you have your Visitors Index Number (VIN), you need to contact the correctional centre’s visits booking line to request a booking.
Please refer to this guide on video visits for information on how to book:

What if I don’t have a smart device at home?
If you do not have access to the technology required for family video visits from home, you may be able to come to the CRC office and we can facilitate it for you. Families must be able to attend CRC’s Canterbury office in person for a video visit.
Access: Phone (02) 9288 8700, 9am–5pm Monday to Friday.
CRC is able to host Family Video Visits between 9.30am-4pm on weekdays, but this also depends on the availability at the correctional centre.
